The first Hapoel Silver Spring “Play Hard” player of the week plays hard. This week, he was the engine that made Team Hevron cruise to a 3-0 victory. Every game he works very hard and this week, as usual, he worked very hard. From Team Hevron, the first Hapoel Silver Spring S.C. “Play Hard” player of the week is... Daniel Dasher (Team Hevron).

Despite Team Yerushalayim’s loss this week, two players for Team Yerushalayim played very hard. Even when they were losing by three goals, they never gave up. They continued to work hard. Play Smart
The Hapoel Silver Spring Soccer Club selected four “Play Smart” players of the week this week. The Hapoel Silver Spring Soccer Club’s first “Smart Player” of the week was unanimously selected by the Hapoel Silver Spring Committee. This player plays hard every week and is a very impressive soccer player. This week he played hard and he played smart. He played hard and smart all game. Even after getting hit in the face with the ball and getting a bloody nose, he merely cleaned up the blood, stepped back onto the field, and kept playing very hard and very smart. From Team Hevron, the first Hapoel Silver Spring “Play Smart” player of the week, unanimously selected, is...Shalom Sukol.

The remaining three Hapoel Silver Spring “Smart Player”s of the week are from Team Tiveria. This week, Team Tiveria upset the former first place squad of Team Tsfat. Not only did they beat team Tsfat, they beat them 3-0. This was an extremely impressive win. Three players for Team Tiveria played very hard and very smart and were the major reasons why they won this game. One goalkeeper and two midfielders played very, very smart. There are two Mensch players of the week this week. The score of both “The Four Holy Cities League” games this week were 3-0. Two players from two different teams had hat-tricks (3 goals) for their respective teams. These were truly impressive outings for both these players. The two “Mensch Player”s of the week, from Team Hevron and Team Tiveria, are Jonathan Galitzer and Amir Klein. This is Amir’s second “Mensch Player” of the week award this season and his three goals this week lifted him to the fifth highest goal scorer in the league. This is Jonathan’s third “Mensch Player” of the week award and his three goals lifted his tally to eleven goals for the regular season. These eleven goals are only second to Team Tsfat’s scoring powerhouse of Dovid Feldman with twenty-two goals.

A player for Team Uriel shows up every week and, quite simply, just plays hard. He knows his job and does it with all his effort. Opposing teams and coaches know that he may not score lots of goals or get lots of assists, but...he is so dangerous as a player because he knows his job on the field for Team Uriel and he puts every ounce of his effort into doing his job well. In Team Uriel’s game against Team Gavriel, this player once again played hard. This player, and the first Hapoel Silver Spring "Play Hard" Player of the week, is... Meir Retter (Team Uriel).

This player for Team Michael plays hard. He loves to play soccer and he loves to play soccer with all his effort. There may be no other player in the league that has as big a smile as this young man when he is playing a game. He loves the game of soccer. And, quite frankly, the game of soccer loves him. For this player’s amazing attitude, work ethic, and critical role in helping Team Michael to capture the regular season championship, we have decided to award him the “Play Hard” Player of the Week. Two weeks ago, Team Gavriel almost pulled off the greatest upset in league history by nearly beating the undefeated Team Michael. Last week, Team Gavriel played against an equally difficult opponent in Team Rafael and tied them 0-0. This week Team Gavriel once again played beautifully as a team and, against the very tough Team Uriel, WON, 1-0. The “Play Smart” award this week is going to three different players from Team Gavriel. The first player for his goal, the second player for his assist on the goal, and the third player for playing very well all over the field. Team Rafael has a player that played exceptionally well this week. Quite frankly, he plays exceptionally well every week. He played very well all over the field today in, possibly, the best game in the history of the Hapoel Silver Spring Soccer Club. Despite Team Rafael losing 2-1 to Team Michael, this player had a goal and...just played beautifully for Team Rafael. The Hapoel Silver Spring Soccer Club is proud to announce that the First Hapoel Silver Spring Soccer Club “Mensch Player” of the week is...Avrohom Mond (Team Rafael).

Team Michael has many talented players. One of these players is so talented, it is a pleasure to watch him every week. He plays very hard. He plays very smart. And, he is a very big mensch. He finished the season as the leagues leading goal scorer with 10 goals and the leagues leading “point-getter” with 25 points. This week, this player was as equally impressive as he was all season. Team Michael’s game this week against Team Rafael will go down in the Hapoel Silver Spring Soccer Club record books as one of the best games every played in the Hapoel Soccer League. The game was exciting all the way up to the last seconds. The second “Mensch Player” of the week scored the first goal for Team Michael and, with his team leading by one goal and with mere seconds remaining in the game, as a goalie, he saved the penalty kick that sealed Team Michael’s victory and his team’s undefeated season. For his goal, his hard work, his exploits as a goalie, and, for his play all season, the second Hapoel Silver Spring "Mensch" Player of the week, is... Max Frankl.
