There was plenty more good action in the second week of the Hapoel Soccer League's spring season.

In the boys' fourth-sixth grade division last Sunday, Maroon/Kelly had little trouble in a 7-1 rout of Royal/Black. Yonatan Abrams and Mikhael Hammer-Bleich led the winners with three goals apiece. David Carton scored the team's other goal. Ben Shemony got the only Royal/Black score.

Royal/Black edged Maroon/Kelly, 3-2, in the second-third grade division game. Aaron Weiss scored a goal for the winners. Noah Mendelsohn got a goal and an assist for Maroon/Kelly while Bennett Bramson scored once.

In the kindergarten-first grade game, Royal/Black rolled to an 8-1 victory over Maroon/Kelly. Samuel Kushnir and Jake Ely led the winners with four goals apiece. Justin Galitzer scored the Maroon goal in the loss.

On the girls' side, Royal/Black found plenty of offense in a 6-1 rout of Maroon/Kelly in the fourth-sixth grade game. Emma Hofman scored two goals while Avelet Berkowitz, Felicia Elenberg, Shoshana Trombka and Lila Bilsky each got one goal for Royal/Black. Maroon/Kelly's only goal came on an own-goal.

In the second-third grade game, Nesiah Ely scored five goals to carry Maroon/Kelly to a 6-2 decision over Royal/Black. Rebecca Levine got the other Maroon/Kelly goal. Natalie Fontenot scored both of the Royal/Black goals.

The kindergarten-first grade league game saw plenty of offense as Maroon/Kelly scored a 5-2 victory over Royal/Black. Ella Gantman led Maroon/Kelly with three goals while Orly Strauss and Sara Sporkin both scored once. Gantman now has scored seven goals in the team's first two games, leading the league with 14 points. Rayna Armon scored both of the Royal/Black goals in the loss. Armon is right behind Gantman in the league's scoring race -- as her five goals gave her 10 points in the first two weeks.
