Playoff season starts for Hapoel Soccer

The playoffs began last weekend in Hapoel Soccer.

In Silver Spring's kindergarten-first-grade division, the Gold, Teal and Maroon teams all scored decisive victories in their first round post-season matches.

Noam Roth scored four goals to lead Gold to a 6-0 shutout of Aqua in their first round playoff game. Ezra Diament and Michael Minsk each also scored once.

Gavriel Yaakov Bernstein took care of the offense in Teal's 4-1 victory over Navy, scoring all of the goals. Saadya Levitt added an assist.

Elie Lowenstein scored the Navy goal.

Eidan Horn had three goals and one assist, and Abe Schoen pitched in with a goal and an assist to lead Maroon to a 4-1 decision over Orange.

Daniel Chodorow added an assist for the winners. Benjamin Coplin scored the Orange goal and Avi Glassman got the assist.

The second-third-grade division saw closer games. Gold and Orange played to a 1-1 tie. Joshua Myers (Gold) and Tani Levinsohn (Orange) got the game's goals.

Maroon and Navy had the same result, battling to a 2-2 tie. Elijah Zack scored both Navy goals while Oren Eisenstadt and Samuel Kushnir both scored once for Maroon in the tie.

Ron Heifetz had two Maroon assists.

Aqua edged Teal, 2-1, in their match-up. Dani Offer and Coby Offer each scored once for Aqua, and Sholom Katz added an assist.

Jake Ely scored the Teal goal.

The fourth-fifth-grade division featured plenty of goals in their playoff games, starting with Teal's 5-0 rout of Navy. Joshua Straus and Chaim Heis each scored twice while Jacob Black added the other goal.

Jacob Myers had three goals and two assists to lead Maroon past Aqua, 5-2. Mory Gould added a goal and an assist. Akiva Glashofer got the other goal in the victory.

Eliezer Shemtov scored both Aqua goals. Eli Feldman helped with an assist.

Evan Goldman scored two goals and Aaron Weiss added one more to give Orange a 3-0 shutout of Gold in their match-up.

The sixth-eighth-grade division saw the Orange team shut out Aqua, 3-0. Noah Zweben, Jacob Serfaty and Ben Shemony all scored once in the win.

Teal and Navy played to a 2-2 tie. Ari Levisohn and Sammy Mellman each scored once for Teal while Isaac Gould and Akiva Chefitz both added an assist.

Jason Kardon and Saadia Tuchman both scored once to give Maroon a 2-0 victory over Gold in their game.

The girls are still playing their regular season, and Gold blanked Aqua, 2-0, in their game in the kindergarten-second-grade division. Adielle Tuchman and Rayna Armon both scored once.

Orange topped Navy, 3-1, in another game in that division. Miriam Edelstein, Aliza Goldschlag and Merav Friedman all scored a goal. Orly Strauss got the Navy goal.

Shutouts were the order of the day in the third-fifth-grade division. Gold blanked Aqua, 5-0. Nesiah Ely led the way with three goals while Elyana Schwartz and Kira Loshin both scored once. Maayan Schoen got an assist.

Eleanna Weissman scored to give Orange a 1-0 victory over Navy.

Navy and Gold scored shutout victories in their sixth-eighth-grade division games. Estee Rebibo's goal gave Navy a 1-0 win over Orange. Sarah Morris notched the assist.

Emma Hofman scored both goals in Gold's 2-0 shutout of Aqua. Hannah Mendelsohn got an assist.

Over in the Hapoel Rockville leagues, the Orange team couldn't be stopped in the kindergarten-second-grade division, rolling to a 10-4 victory over Navy.

Boaz Schwartz scored four goals, and Josh Siegel added three plus an assist. Jesse Lacefield scored twice, and Jack Weitzner got a goal and an assist.

Noam Richman led Navy with two goals and two assists. Jacob Udler and Joey Sussman both scored a goal and Daniel Deutsch added an assist.

Ari Schlachtus (two goals) and Gabriel Stillman (one goal) led Aqua to a 3-0 shutout of Gold. Ethan Kulp and Andrew Stein both had assists.

The third-fifth-grade division features combined teams. Aqua/Gold rolled to a 5-1 victory over Navy/Orange. Eric Shalloway (three goals) led the winners. Mikhael Hammer-Bleich helped with a goal and an assist while George Shalloway also scored a goal. Joshua Eisen added an assist.

Alex Arking scored the Navy/Orange goal.

On the girls' side, the Aqua/Gold team routed Navy/Orange, 12-0, in the kindergarten-second-grade division. Estie Cohen (six goals, two assists) and Shlomit Bernstein (five goals, one assist) led the way. Danielle Kronstadt also scored a goal.

Aqua/Gold had little trouble in a 9-3 victory over Navy/Orange in a third-fifth-grade division match-up. Ashira Rosen's six goals and one assist sparked the winners, who also got a good game from Sara Byer (three goals, two assists).

Shani Breitstein scored twice for Navy/Orange. Shoshana Garfield also got a goal.
