Hapoel Soccer league gave out a number of "big" or special awards to players at their recent banquet in Baltimore.

Yehuda Edelstein (Silver Spring fourth-fifth grade division) and Hannah Mendelsohn (Silver Spring sixth-eighth) won the Samuel Singer Hasmada Award. That goes to the player who demonstrates the most diligence, persistence and determination.

Noah Zweben (Silver Spring sixth-ninth) took home the Richard H. Stewart, Jr. Kavod Leadership Award. That goes to the player who shows the best leadership skills plus honor and respect to those around him.

Chana Brocha Reingold (Silver Spring girls third-fifth) won the Teshuva Award, given to the player who improved the most as a player and a person since last season or throughout the course of this season.

The Yarden Frankl "Coach" Award went to Daniel Hadar (Silver Spring boys kindergarten-first grade). That goes to the coach who has demonstrated the values and philosophy of the league
