The Hapoel Basketball club's fourth-grade team (named the Seahawks) began its season on Sunday with an impressive 36-16 victory over Griffins II.

Hapoel plays in the 2009 Montgomery County Basketball League and used balanced scoring to come up with the easy victory. Daniel Zweben led the way with 13 points, and Mori Gould was next with eight points and four rebouinds.

Jacob Glassman had a strong game with five points and eight rebounds. Jonah Riffkin turned in an impressive effort with two points and 13 rebounds. Eli Horn (two points, six rebounds), Noah Green (two points, four rebounds, four assists) and Aaron Weiss (two points) also helped in the victory.

Akiva Glashofer also played well with four rebounds and two steals as the Seahawks were consistent all the way around, a good starting point for a long season.

The Seahawks' next game will be on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Wyngate Wizards at Ritchie Park Elementary School. They play every Sunday through early March in the Montgomery County Basketball League.
