Hapoel Takes the Field

The Hapoel Soccer league season began Sunday as the boys and girls both kicked off their fall seasons.

In the kindergarten-first grade division, the Blue and Gold teams played to a 1-1 tie. Simon Goldberg scored for Blue while Benjamin Winters got the Gold goal and Yoni Liebstein added an assist.

The second-third grade division saw the Orange and Maroon teams score shutouts. Orange pulled out a 2-0 victory over Black. Yoni Eisen got a goal and an assist, and Noam Roth and Ezra Diament both scored a goal.

Meir Schwartz scored the game-winning goal in Maroon's 1-0 victory over Green. Yaakov Robinson added an assist.

The Gold and Blue teams played to a 1-1 tie. Gavriel Yaakov Bernstein (Gold) and Boaz Schwartz (Blue) scored the goals.

In the fourth-fifth grade division, Elijah Zack scored to give Gold a 1-0 victory over Blue.

Coby Melkin's four-goal effort helped Black to a 5-0 rout of Orange. Maroon and Green battled to a 2-2 tie in their game.

Noach Solomson scored both Maroon goals. Joshua Myers got both Green scores while Sammy Levitt assisted on each.

The Gold team edged Blue, 2-1, in a sixth-grade division game. Green blanked Maroon, 2-0, in the other game in this division.

Eli Shemtov (one goal, one assist) paced Gold in its victory. Avram Warshawsky (one goal) and Avi Shulman (one assist) both helped.

Nadiv Panitch scored the Blue goal, and Jonah Riffkin had an assist.

Reuben Winston and Danny Zweben both scored a goal in the Green victory over Maroon.

Over on the girls' side, the Gold/Blue and Green/Maroon played to a 2-2 draw in the kindergarten-second grade division.

For Gold/Blue, Ava August scored both goals. Gabriella Riffkin got one assist. Michal Eizenstat scored both of the Green/Maroon goals and Rosie Kavanagh had an assist.

The third-fifth grade division saw the Green and Maroon finish in a 2-2 tie while the Blue rolled to a 5-3 victory.

The tie saw Shana Lowenstein score both Green goals. Adielle Tuchman did the same for the Maroon team.

In the Blue team's victory, Aliza Goldschlag and Eliana Makovsky both finished with two goals and one assist. Shlomit Bernstein added the other goal.

Rachel Levine led Gold with a goal and an assist. Daniella Schwartz and Dalia Skolnick both also scored a goal in the loss.

The sixth grade division saw the Green and Maroon battle to a scoreless tie in their match-up.

Avital Jacobs scored to give the Blue team a 1-0 victory over Gold in their game. Eliana Tuchman added an assist.
